Following is a partial list of the many awards, accolades and honors Hitachi Group companies operating in the Americas have received between 2009 and 2011.
In 2010, Clarion Corporation of America received the PACE Partnership Innovation Award, along with Ford Motor Co., for Ford’s Next Generation Navigation System, which Clarion supplied. The prestigious PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers’ ontribution to Excellence) Award, presented by Automotive News, Ernst & Young LLP and Transportation Research Center Inc., was given to Clarion and Ford for their combined efforts creating a series of firsts in integration, real-time information feeds, voice recognition multi-language software and Human Machine Interface (HMI).
Clarion also received the 2010 Subaru Supplier Excellence Award from Subaru of America – the eighth time Clarion has won the award. And the company was honored with the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates award for the Highest Quality Factory Installed Navigation System, an award it also won in 2009.
For several years in a row, Hitachi Consulting has been cited as one of the best places to work, and has won numerous customer excellence, industry and partnership awards. Hitachi Consulting has also been named to numerous Gartner Magic Quadrants, including CRM, Oracle ERP, ERP, Supply Chain, Business Intelligence and Performance Management. And it was cited as an Entrepreneur in the Green Quadrant Sustainable Technology Services report by Verdantix. In addition, in 2011, Hitachi Consulting’s work with the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs received Laureate Honors at the 2011 Computerworld Honors Program.
In 2010, Hitachi Canadian Industries Ltd. was awarded OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications in recognition of the company’s commitment to occupational health & safety and the environment. The certifications complete HCI’s Integrated Management System, which includes the ISO 9001 quality certification.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Hitachi was chosen for inclusion in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, the stock index developed cooperatively by Dow Jones & Company in the United States and Sustainability Asset Management (SAM) Group Holding, an investment boutique in Switzerland focused exclusively on sustainability investing. Hitachi was also included in the Silver Class in Sustainable Asset Management’s Sustainability Yearbook 2010.
In 2011, Hitachi Data Systems Corporation was recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies. Out of a record number of nominations for the award, Hitachi Data Systems secured a hard-earned spot on the list by establishing a strict business practices program that is instrumental to the company’s success, benefits the community and raises the bar for ethical standards within the industry.
In 2011, Hitachi Data System’s Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) won the renowned iF product design award. Presented to companies for outstanding design achievements, this distinct honor is awarded each year by an international jury of experts for outstanding excellence in design and innovation.
Hitachi Data Systems was also recently named one of the top 10 best places to work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Out of 1,200 company entries, Hitachi Data Systems was ranked third. This was also the third time Hitachi Data Systems made the list.
In April 2011, Intel® Corporation awarded its prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award for 2010 to Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation for its etching systems, field emission and critical dimension scanning electron microscopes and defect inspection systems. The award, handed out at Intel’s Supplier Day, recognizes the organization’s most accomplished suppliers, distinguishing world-class, outstanding quality performance of companies that provide products and services imperative to Intel’s business success. The 2010 recognition was the sixth consecutive SCQI award for Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation.
In 2011, VLSIresearch recognized Hitachi High-Technologies as The Best Assembly Equipment Supplier. Hitachi High-Technologies, a leading die bonder supplier, excelled in customer satisfaction and captured the highest ranking for assembly equipment suppliers with an overall rating of 8.59 – and was rated the highest assembly equipment supplier in 14 out of 15 categories.
In 2010, Hitachi America Ltd.’s Industrial Inkjet Printer business won the Packaging World Leadership in Packaging award for Coding/Marking.
In 2009, Hitachi’s HI VISION Preirus Ultrasound Scanner, a product of Hitachi Medical Systems America, received the Good Design Gold award, and in 2010 it received reddot’s Product Design award.
In 2009, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized Carter Express as a SmartWay Transport Partner for committing to improve the environmental performance of its freight operations. Carter Express also won three consecutive first place awards from the Truckload Carriers Association as the safest carrier in its class (fleets that run between 50 and 99 million miles annually).
