Hitachi Group Companies Preserve and Restore Land on Their Properties for the Habitat Network Plan

Hitachi Computer Products America and Hitachi Vantara Distribution Center

These group companies are working in partnership with The Nature Conservancy to create two ecosystem services maps of Hitachi’s property in Norman, Oklahoma. Using the Habitat Map and ESII Tool Map, the Conservancy and Hitachi will collectively define goals for increasing and/or maintaining wildlife habitat and ecosystem services on the property, develop an employee engagement strategy to implement the Habitat Network Plan, and establish metrics to assess the impact of Hitachi’s implementation of the Habitat Network Plan on the environment. They plan to document and enhance onsite species and habitat and contribute to wildlife corridor through OKC Metro.

Hitachi Powdered Metals America

Hitachi Powdered Metals America designated a portion of their property as “Green Space” in May 2017. The staff planted native pollinator plants on this piece of land to help rejuvenate the honey bee population.
