Hitachi diversity through Women’s Leadership

Hitachi promotes diversity through the Women’s Leadership Counts Initiative

Five years ago, the Japan America Society of Southern California (JASSC) created the Women’s Leadership Counts Initiative (WLCI) as a first of its kind initiative to provide a platform for women in business on both sides of the Pacific to engage in professional and leadership development. Each year, the WLC hosts a conference which touches on a topic that is relevant to society today.

The most recent conference theme was “Impact Leadership in the New Normal-VUCA World” and focused on the Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity in this complex world. The Hitachi, Ltd. Los Angeles office served as co-chair of the conference and sponsored a table with Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc. More than 180 people from the business, academic, non-profit and entrepreneurial world attended the conference which also featured Lynne Humenik, president and CEO of Hitachi Cable America as a panelist.
