A mainstay in Team Penske's lineup for more than a decade, Helio Castroneves remains one of the most productive racers in the IndyCar Series and one of the most popular sports personalities. In 2017, Castroneves returns for his 18th season with Team Penske, driving the No. 3 Hitachi Dallara Chevrolet.
With his third victory in the Indianapolis 500 in 2009, Castroneves is only the tenth three-time winner of the prestigious race, and the only active driver. He was the quickest driver to reach this milestone, achieving the record in only nine attempts. With his two previous "500" victories in 2001 and 2002, Castroneves, at the age of 27, became the youngest driver to win the race twice and the only driver ever to win in his first two attempts.
Castroneves, whose charm and passion for racing make him one of the most captivating drivers, is known for his signature victory celebration of climbing the fence after taking the checkered flag. His great attitude, signature smile and outbursts of unbridled enthusiasm make him one of the true stars of motorsports.
2017 will be Helio's 20th IndyCar season and his 18th with Team Penske. Hitachi is proud to partner with Team Penske and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves for the sixth straight year.
