Hitachi Broadens LCD Projector Line with Two New SVGA Units

CP-S840W and CP-S860W to Debut at InfoComm '99

BRISBANE, Calif. June 8, 1999 -- Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi. Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), today announced two new SVGA LCD projectors, the CP-S840W and CP-S860W, that give the company one of the industry's broadest lines of LCD projectors.

Weighing under ten pounds, the super-portable CP-S840W offers users an 800 lumen, lightweight and portable projector that is ideal for the mobile presenter.

The CP-S860W features superior brightness of 2,000 ANSI lumens. The unit also incorporates electronic keystone correction, picture in picture and freeze frame capability.

The CP-S840W is priced at $7,495.00 and the CP-S860W is priced at $8,995.00. Both products will be available in August 1999.

The projectors incorporate remote controls with built-in laser pointers, two data inputs and universal power supplies. These LCD projectors are simple to setup and use, and are easily transported from the office to presentation site. The CP-S840W and CP-S860W will debut at InfoComm '99, Booth #0530.
