Hicham Abdessamad currently holds roles as Chairman of Hitachi America, Ltd., Chief Executive of Hitachi’s Global Social Innovation Business (GSIB), and Corporate Officer for Hitachi, Ltd..
As Chairman of Hitachi America Ltd., Hicham’s responsibilities include ensuring Hitachi America group companies continue their growth trajectory in the region across various industries, and aligning Hitachi America’s strategies and businesses with Hitachi’s social innovation mission to deliver social, economic and environmental value for our customers, partners and ecosystems. He is also responsible for ensuring that Hitachi has a strong and consistent brand presence in North America while positively influencing the local communities and markets that we serve.
In addition to his role as Chairman of Hitachi America, Hicham is also Chief Executive of Hitachi’s Global Social Innovation Business (GSIB). GSIB is a key growth business for Hitachi that aligns a portfolio of transformational digital technology solutions with Hitachi’s industrial capabilities to execute on a mission of powering good while driving meaningful business transformation outcomes for our customers. GSIB co-creates solutions across multiple industries where Hitachi has strong OT and IT capabilities, and creates new markets and next-generation digital business models with our customers and ecosystem partners that create economic value while positively impacting society and the environment.
Prior to his current role, Hicham held multiple senior executive roles within Hitachi including CEO of Hitachi Global Digital Holdings, President and CEO of Hitachi Consulting and Deputy General Manager of Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business Division.
Hicham holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Suffolk University, Massachusetts and has completed the Executive Development Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire and the Executive Leadership Program at the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
