Every year over 50,000 people descend upon Chicago for the Radiological Society of North America Annual General Meeting on Thanksgiving week. The show runs from Sunday to Thursday for exhibitors and 2017 provided 52,657 registrants, including 24,953 professional registrants the opportunity to explore first-hand what Hitachi has to offer.
Hitachi Healthcare deployed the full portfolio of MR, CT and Ultrasound products across the 12,800 square feet of booth with live demos every half hour throughout the show. Attendees are able to see up close and personal the actual modalities and can have an image review on the actual consoles that they would have onsite. Hitachi Healthcare Americas shared the booth with some of its sister companies: Hitachi Vantara, Hitachi Cable, Hitachi Medical Systems Europe, Hitachi Healthcare Business Unit (Japan) and our partner (who was later acquired in January) Vidistar.
The theme of #RSNA17 was Speed. Comfort. Quality. Hitachi’s portfolio provides fast scanning in a comfortable environment and delivers high quality imaging, regardless of the modality. CT, MR and U/S all fit with this theme and attendees were free to experience the comfort aspects personally. For those who attended a demo, Hitachi made a donation on their behalf to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to aid those affected by the hurricanes.
RSNA is a busy time for Hitachi and 2017 was no exception. Sheldon Schaffer presented the Hitachi sponsored RSNA R&E Research Seed Grant to Dr. Alessandro Furlan, M.D. of UPMC and Hitachi was recognized as an RSNA Vanguard company for its donations for the support of radiology and related sciences.
Hitachi also invited 1200 of its partners and customers to celebrate the successes of the past year at The Field Museum with the 2017 Imaging Insiders sushi event – the hottest ticket in town. Guests enjoyed hand rolled sushi, saki and were able to tour the museum and have their pictures taken with Sue, the T-Rex. Rumor has it Sue will have a friend in 2018 so be sure to join the Hitachi family and get invited.
Another successful RSNA in the books – look for Hitachi Healthcare in the North Hall (a new location for us) in 2018!
