Sullair Chicago Employees Participates in Chicago Habitat for Humanity Build Day

Founded in Michigan City, Indiana, in 1965, Sullair is committed to remaining a long-term partner to the communities in which our employees live and work. A Michigan City-based Community Action Committee meets bi-monthly to develop opportunities for our organization and employees to volunteer, donate, give back and otherwise connect with colleagues to help enhance our communities.

With the addition of the Sullair Chicago office in 2014, Sullair sought to expand its community efforts. In 2019, a Chicago Community Action Committee (CCAC) was formed. The committee meets monthly to create opportunities for Chicago employees to give back to the community.

The CCAC recently completed its second event: a Habitat for Humanity Chicago Team Build Day. Ten members of the Sullair Chicago team helped with decking, laying rim boards, painting and scaffolding to transform formerly vacant lots into a 16-home community in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood.

“We are so grateful for all you have done to help our families and the West Pullman community build strong, stable futures,” said Stefan Sterett, Volunteer Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity Chicago. “We look forward to continuing this mission together in hopes that, one day, everyone in our city will have a decent place to call home.”
