SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, www.hitachi.us, October 15, 2007 – Hitachi is a proud sponsor of the 8th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival taking place this month. Throughout the eight-day festival, more than 170 movies will be viewed at eight different theater venues across the city of San Diego.

“As a leading provider of video presentation systems, Hitachi values the ability to make technology contributions to our local community,” commented Pete Denes, vice president of sales for Hitachi America Ubiquitous Business Group. “The San Diego Asian Film Festival is a great community organization that integrates technology with the arts and we are proud to provide our support.”

The film festival, running October 11-18th, is part of the San Diego Asian Film Foundation, a non-profit organization that honors the community’s Asian-American artists, filmmakers and educators by providing community outreach, education and support. The San Diego Asian Film Festival is the organization’s premier event each year, drawing notable stars throughout the years such as Daniel Dae Kim from ABC’s Lost television series.

This year’s guests include James Kyson Lee from NBC’s Heroes, Sung Kang and Leonardo Nam from “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” Ron Yuan from CBS’s CSI, and Yul Kwon from CBS’s Survivor: Cook Islands.

Each year, executive director Lee Ann Kim organizes the Festival and is pleased to have support from local companies such as Hitachi. “We are a community organization and we rely on our relationships with members within the San Diego area,” explained Ms. Kim. “Working with a technology leader like Hitachi has been a great experience this year.”

Not only honoring the community’s film pursuits, the festival also features a Bone Marrow Drive, Music Video Program, Acting Workshop and Youth Day. For more information on the San Diego Asian Film Foundation, please visit www.sdaff.org.
