The “Rush For 2000 Yards” Game, entering its second year, allows contestants to select one pro football running back each week. Participants guess the rushing yards and attempts that their selected player will make on the football field that week, which are tiebreaking factors used to determine the winners of weekly prizes. The catch is that a contestant is allowed to select a running back only once during the entire contest period. Each week, the selected player’s rushing yards are added to a season total, which will eventually determine a grand prize winner. The Grand Prize winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to Honolulu, Hawaii February 8 – 12, 2008.

"Rush for 2000 Yards is a game of skill that is not too overwhelming or time consuming, and offers great prizes” said Bryce Wells, Director of Athlon Interactive. "We are excited to be working with Hitachi and the contestants while they pursue the ultimate prize: a trip to Hawaii."

This year’s sponsor, the Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division of Hitachi America, Ltd., adds broad national exposure and promotion for this competition, which runs for 17 weeks from the beginning to the end of the 2007 pro football season.

“Hitachi is pleased to be a part of this contest," said Daniel Lee, vice president of marketing for Hitachi America, Ltd., UB Division. "Our 50-inch Plasma TVs and Hybrid DVD/HDD Camcorders are just a few of the great prizes that contestants can qualify to win in addition to the sports prizes and trips.”
