Hitachi Healthcare Americas and Terason Announce Strategic Partnership for Sale and Distribution of uSmart® 3200T NexGen Ultrasound System

Cleveland, OH June 5, 2017 — Hitachi Healthcare Americas Corporation (HHA) and Terason announced the signing of a strategic partnership for the sale and distribution of the uSmart® 3200T NexGen Ultrasound System focusing on urology. “This agreement fills a need for both companies,” explained Jeff Sirek, General Manager of Terason. “Terason gains an expanded sales channel and HHA adds a solution to address specific market needs that we both believe are poised for significant growth over the next several years.” Mr. Sirek went on to explain that “in addition to co-marketing, both companies are also collaborating to expand the versatility of the 3200T within several unique and niche markets.”

The agreement reflects a larger strategy that has served as an ongoing guiding philosophy for Hitachi Healthcare, says John Waddell, Vice President / General Manager of Ultrasound at HHA. “We are continually looking for ways that HHA can respond rapidly to the ever-changing landscape of medical imaging and provide our customers with comprehensive ultrasound solutions. This partnership with Terason is a great example of this because the result is more than just the sum of its parts.”

Hitachi Healthcare showcased the Terason uSmart 3200T NexGen at this year’s American Urological Association (AUA) in Boston and received a very favorable response from customers and attendees. “The level of traffic at the uSmart display was indicative of the desire for such a unique value proposition and that certainly resonated with attendees,” reported Mr. Waddell.
