Hitachi Brings New Level of Sophistication To Projector Market With Feature-Rich, SXGA+ Projector At INFOCOMM 2001

LAS VEGAS, http://www.hitachi.us/, June 11, 2001 - Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan (NYSE: HIT), today announced an affordable, high-definition portable projector - featuring Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) and Hitachi's progressive scan technologies - to meet the market's growing demand for more sophisticated, feature-rich projectors. Designed for savvy consumers and businesses for applications such as home theatre, architecture and presentations, Hitachi's CP-SX5500W features 1,500 lumens and sharp SXGA+ resolution for a vivid projection image at an affordable XGA price point. This model is one of three new Hitachi projectors being unveiled and demonstrated at INFOCOMM 2001 along side Hitachi's entire family of multimedia projectors at Booth #6065 at the Sands Convention Center, June 13 - 15, 2001.

The CP-SX5500W features Hitachi's progressive scan technology, enhancing the video quality of the projector, and providing rich, smooth images. Hitachi progressive scan includes 3/2 pull down, as well as noise reduction and black enhancement, to ensure the highest possible video quality

With digital RGB (DVI), analog RGB (x 2), component, composite, and S-Video inputs, the CP-SX5500W provides a high level of connectivity and versatility for ease of use. The CP-SX5500W also features an easy-to-use direct keystone adjustment button, allowing both horizontal and vertical keystone correction for flexible installation.
