Hitachi Announces New 50-Inch Plasma Display

LAS VEGAS, http://www.hitachi.us/, June 11, 2002 - Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan (NYSE: HIT), today introduced the CMP5000WXU, the newest addition to Hitachi's plasma display family. The new model joins the 42-inch CMP4121HDU, now available with a silver bezel, and the high-definition 37-inch CMP307XU, providing a complete range of plasma displays for an array of presentation requirements. Ideal for conferences and show rooms, restaurant menu boards, retail stores and sports venues, the new product features a sleek design with a large 50-inch viewing area, and exceptional video quality. The CMP5000WXU will be demonstrated in conjunction with Hitachi's full line of visual display products at InfoComm 2002 in Booth #7081 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas from June 12 - 14, 2002.

Excellent Image Quality and Advanced Features The CMP5000WXU features XGA resolution and a sharp 900:1 contrast ratio for exceptional image quality. Sophisticated color filters and high brightness ensure rich, natural colors for lifelike imaging. The 16:9 aspect ratio display is equipped with multi-scan technology to automatically adjust to VGA, S-VGA, XGA, S-XGA or UXGA resolution for enhanced brightness and contrast.
