Bill Whalen Named Senior Product And Marketing Manager, Hitachi America, Ltd., Home Electronics Divison

-- Consumer Electronics Veteran to Manage Strategic Product and Marketing Program --

San Diego, California,, December 20, 2000 -- Hitachi America, Ltd., Home Electronics Division today named Bill Whalen as senior product and marketing manager.

A fourteen-year veteran in the consumer electronics industry, Mr. Whalen will oversee Hitachi's complete line of consumer electronics including projection and direct-view televisions, plasma monitors, DVDs, camcorders and VCRs. Prior to joining Hitachi, Whalen worked at Pioneer for eight and a half years as manager of new business development and display. During his tenure with Pioneer, Whalen helped launch the first consumer HDTV plasma monitor and HDTV projection monitor in the United States.
