Hitachi America, Ltd. Meets NSF/ANSI Standard 61-Annex G for Submersible Motors

TARRYTOWN, New York, February 8, 2010 – Hitachi America, Ltd., Industrial Systems Division, today announced compliance with NSF/ANSI Standard 61-Annex G for the Hitachi submersible pump motor full line up, effective Dec 16, 2009.

Annex-G (Weighted Average Lead Content Evaluation Procedure to a 0.25 Percent Lead Requirement) was developed in response to California’s Low Lead Plumbing Law (also know as AB 1953) which mandates a maximum lead content of less than 0.25% for products which come in contact with drinking water. This law went into effect in California January 1st, 2010. A similar law has been enacted in Vermont and was scheduled to take effect in January as well.
