Hitachi America, Ltd. Releases “New” Bridge Control Panels for Cranes

--Pre-engineered panels provide for quick and easy development of crane control systems--

TARRYTOWN, NY, October 5, 2009 – Hitachi America, Ltd., today announced the release of its HBC Series of bridge crane control and power distribution panels. The standardized design includes a Hitachi SJ200 Series inverter for the bridge axis. The NEMA1 rated panels feature a lockable through-door disconnect with either fusing or circuit breaker; fusible, touch-safe branch protection; a control power transformer; main contactor rated to match the disconnect; a brake contactor; and an internally mounted dynamic braking resistor for the bridge inverter. Provisions are made for convenient installation and wiring to external devices.

The panel also provides power for the hoist and traverse axes. So the package also includes individual motor overloads. Models are available with bridge inverter ratings from 1 to 10 hp, both 230 VAC and 460 VAC, and with power supply ratings from 30 A to 100 A to supply the hoist and trolley controls.

In addition to standard models, the panels are highly configurable for custom requirements. NEMA3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 enclosures are optionally available, as well as a variety of other special features.
